What is going on?:

Just in...
The President of the United States signed a tough tobacco law today effecting Ecigs, giving rights to the FDA. See here.

Well, that 'other forum' seems to be dying except for the announcements from its 'suppliers'. Sales however is alive and kicking EVEN in the U.S. for those who are wondering. One of our team saw for the first time ecigs sold in a 'brick and mortar' storefront. It was an herbs and health food store.

Well things have been fairly slow news wise for the last week. We are starting to think people are slowly getting more and more content with the ecigs. But we can tell you this:
23 May 2009 01:53
Well it appears as nothing really happened on the mythical May 5th date suggesting FDA action on ecigarettes. One thing is true, seizures are still going on, mostly with the bigger companies with larger shipping sizes. Seems the mom and pop ecig shops are doing quite well, selling out quickly.
Oddly, Puresmoker seemingly hit by a couple of large seizures, has decided to take some radical steps to keep sales going and make sure none of us go back to tobacco. With a ScrewDriver clone! They won't be pleased I called it that, but as far as I can tell that is what it is. named Prodigy. A screwdriver clone with a huge battery pack that is made specifically IN THE U.S. While I don't think we really needed another screwdriver clone (See GG)... We sure could use some manufacturers in the U.S. They also hint at U.S. atomizers in development. Their SD clone will come in all models apparently, be it e-cig model 510, 901, or penstyle etc. Puresmoker also hints at shutting down all eliquid sales.
Finally. Dude decides to review the Vapor king... Naked, except for his robe! Check it : Vapor King

Bill Godshall of Smokefree Pennsylvania reports in a mass email message that the Food and Drug Administration plans to proceed with a ban on electronic cigarettes, devices that deliver nicotine vapor without tobacco or combustion products. Godshall reproduces the following message from Heather Zawalick of the FDA's Office of Legislation, which says the agency will announce enforcement actions against the three largest e-cigarette distributors on Tuesday:
Subject/Headline: FDA Takes Enforcement Action on Electronic Smoking Products
Planned Release Date: May 5
Driving Event: Compliance action
Rollout Plan: Extensive rollout planned including press conference at HHS, press release, fact sheet, video for upload to YouTube, podcast, consumer article, consumer Q &A, key message points, internal media Q & A, Op-Ed, photos of products for posting on Internet.
Other background, hidden factors: Action involves three largest distributors. One of the distributors has just sued FDA seeking a restraining order to prevent us from holding their product at the border.
There is keen interest in this subject. E-cigarette kiosks are all over town, including Montgomery Mall. They're being advertised as a safer alternative to cigarettes. Our concern is that this might introduce nonusers to nicotine use. This is a drug delivery device. The content of the products have not been analyzed by FDA. To be sold, they would have to be approved by the agency.

Smoking everywhere today sued the FDA for overstepping authority by seizing shipments of the electronic cigarette. The claim is simply that the FDA does not have rights over any kind of cigarette, or cigarette like device. See more here:

Seems the 510 series by Joye are selling very well with few complaints. The manual switch one that is. (aka Janty Dura-C). Also the m401 and the 306a (aka minifogger) are doing well. DSE901 still selling at a nice pace too. Not too much news in the last couple weeks. A passthrough for the 510. Another 50 or so new sellers of ecigs... Still long delays on both sides of customs it appears. Grape and Plum flavors are the newest "it" juice. It appears juice prices retail have been coming down quite a bit. Janty Stick coming out soon. Totally Wicked free shipping on somethings, and centraltrade removes all minimum order restrictions. The online petition to the FDA has over 4000 signatures. Made some new friends with truesmoker.com and vaporguys.com .Seem like some very good guys running good business. And finally I started a new habit of sucking on a menthol crystal while smoking a menthol ecig. Seems strange? I know... Any way check out the e-cig forum!

Well despite the waxman bill not landing in our favor, the Ecig industry still seems to be a sleeper bet in the global economy. Sales are brisk, and Ecig companies are joining forces all around to do what they can to keep us strong. A large unified front got together in Chicago and worked on issues surrounding our delicious e-cig. Why was this done? Well maybe you can explain how I am cigarette free for 9 months after chain smoking for 15 years. But no that is not the real reason. The real reason lands in the fact we are having slight trouble getting the miracle (can I say that?) product into likeminded folks hands. But do not fear many companies are working hard, day and night, to get you your "electronic personal vaporizers".
Janty/Parker Has decided to go with disposable, or as they call it throw away atomizers in their products starting May 1. The Janty Stick is now on preorder for 166 dollars. I'm going to see if they have a lay away plan.
Bloogplanet.com, one of the few suppliers of the disposable ecig has a New website coming soon which we are told is really going to knock our socks off.
Smilin and His Vapor King seems to still be doing excellent business. Although he did have to let go of one of his employees (times are tough...)
Pretty interested here to know how Skyrl's next gen cartridges are working out.
A new Takeoff on Trogs ScrewDriver seems to be in development a la a company named "GG".
Has anyone seen Leaford?
Thats enough to wet your whistle... for now... Need more info? Ask a question on the forums!

100% Uptime On Esmoking.net! :)
12 Apr 2009 23:38
Hello my electronic cigarette visitors! We at ES have your best interests at heart. And we want to present something new to you. We have decided to modify the format of the forums. We know you guys have a lot of questions you want to ask. We want to give you the answers. The forum is now structured to keep the suppliers in touch with customers in an organized fashion.
On a side note we have met many really wonderful people in this industry lately, and have lots of announcements to make. They will be coming soon.
On another side note we recently lost one of our staff writers, and are in need of more E-Cig news writers. Please Email us at: Esmokingforum@live.com
Thanks, and most of all... Enjoy!

It seems like ShenZhen woke up from a long slumber and the factories seem to be running on all cylinders suddenly. After getting no responses from them for two weeks, now all the companies are manufacturing again.
ECigarette Forum seems to be inundated with suppliers. Everyone wants in on the new industry. However no one seems to be interested in price competition. Well, except for the buyers that is.
Central Trade seems to be offering a few new things. A hookah for one.
While the FDA tightens up on the ban, more and more new esmokers seem to be coming out and nearly every Esmoking website is seeing nearly double the hits from this time three months ago.
Energy Juice seems to be the trend right now.

Just wanted to give you a quote taken from Friday March 13th article by Danielle Dellorto of CNN on her news article entitled "FDA Hazy on e-cigarettes safety". It says:
"If its a choice between smoking tobacco product or a nicotine replacement --of course, keep taking the nicotine its a heck of a lot healthier then tobacco smoking". This was said by a Dr. Schroeder physician and smoking cessation expert talking about the ecigarette issue.
14 Mar 2009 08:49
Well, it had to happen it seems. The FDA have indeed hinted that they were going to classify the e-cig as "a new drug". The thing is its just so vague. Why would the e-cig be illegal? One can understand perhaps nicotine.. But the Ecig itself? Research has provided us with the knowledge that multiple seizures on the U.S. side of customs have been done in the past few weeks. Calls to the FDA on the issue were forwarded straight to a voicemail box... Hmm.

Seems some U.S. and U.K. Suppliers are growing impatient, as U.S. and U.K. Suppliers do in the E cigarette industry and are feeling pressure from their customers. Some suppliers have decided this is the right time to check out other manufacturers in Shenzhen. Switching between the main six factories and their subcontractors. Customer loyalty all around is diminishing with all this "sold out" stock. Meanwhile, there always is one...a man with MS on the Totally-Wicked Forums cries out for help, hypothetically, for a cannabis "Personal Vaporizer"...

Not much news Here this Weekend. Actually that is not true. Ruyan gets into publicity, and allows some interviews with members of the board for the first time. Some Photos came out of Ruyan Employees working like crazy made it to the top 50 most viewed pictures of the day according to Yahoo!. Apparently the word has spread more about E-cigs and China is having a lot of trouble. Some more customs issues and more so growing pains as the demand for E-Cigs rise in the United States. Even Jose Canseco is talking about E-cigs with Howard Stern! Looking around you'll see that many online shops are out of stock on most items. China was Happy and needed a break this weekend to relax and hire more employees to work in those factories. Relax now China, because Monday will be here soon enough and all those crazy Americans will be making their crazy demands again.
In other news Puresmoker, despite the fact that twenty or thirty new shops are opening competing for their USA based customers, make a bold move to NASHVILLE, TN! And will be closed March 10th to March 20th. Must be thinking everyone is out of stock and we might be soon so now is our chance to relocate from our one bedroom company into an actual office! Only time will tell if this is a very right move, or a very wrong move.

Well well... Looks like a couple things are stirring lately. Our friend, David Yang in china has resurrected his website with some very impressive competitive prices at eastmall.net. Quite impressed. Don't know what to think about a universal shipping charge of 16 bucks though. Does that include a guarantee that it will make it through customs and won't arrive in three weeks?
In other news the Ruyan Jazz has gotten some decent publicity with this widely disliked (in the US) company. It is a new disposable e-cigarette that is excellent they say. The downside? Its as big as a cigar and it costs 25 dollars daily. Hmmmmm. Close! But no Ecigar here. Meanwhile Ruyan have apparently sent out a newswire saying they sued E-cig.com for patent rights and E-cig.com is now not allowed to sell e-cigarettes. If you go to E-cig.com you can see the owners response to this message in the announcements section. If your too lazy to go I will sum it up for you. He basically says 'Hell No thats totally false and we will be in business not only for a long time, but FOREVER' in all caps.

It appears as if the guys at RoyalSmoker in China have decided to rename the new "lady pipe" to "mini pipe" Smart move! Parker, the Janty aficionado and ecig video reviewer has called this 30 dollar model a "Screwdriver Killer". This device appears to be a "throw away on fail" item with no replacement parts. Many of the other vendors besides Puresmoker now are supplying the remarkable Coca Cola flavor juices in all strengths.
Janty has stopped sales of its Dura product due to product flaws. This typically professional E-cigarette vendor named the Dura because it claimed to be "Durable and Reliable. Well, so much for that. Janty has a improved version, "Dura-C" in the works which should resolve those issues.

Well It looks like your and my favorite wholesale distributor in China are having some issues getting e-cigarettes through customs. It seems a couple bulk buy orders have been rejected and money has been refunded. Also a report of a customer whose bulk order from Central-trade was siezed at customs. Reason: CT apparently labeled it "Drugs"!. Perhaps they need a new shipping agent? What do you think? Here is What Central Trade Emailed the customers "Thanks for your order, we ruturn the paypal money, as we need to deel with new situation in your country for shipment. We will inform you when everything is clear up". We shall see exactly how many Internet E-Cig stores go under based on this. I believe it will effect more companies then you think.
